SOARTECH + EPIC

UGN SUPPORT COMMUNITY

SoarTech offers government employees and contractors an annual subscription for membership in the UGN (Unreal Government Network) Support Community, which also includes read-only access to the UDN (Unreal Developers Network). UGN members enjoy exclusive access to SoarTech’s streamlined support services, including support for classified environments. UE4 experts will monitor and respond to member questions in the UGN. The UGN network enables the ability to collaborate with other Government based organizations to develop a strong UGN knowledge base.

UDN:

  • A user-based forum for developers that have signed a custom UE license agreement with Epic Games or companies that are currently under an UE Evaluation agreement. UDN is monitored by Epic support staff

UGN:

  • Supports Government Employees/Contractors only
  • Uses the same forum-based format as UDN
  • Connects members with UE4 experts

SoarTech offers professional training on a variety of topics to support best practices for simulation and game development. Led by experts in the field, face-to-face seminars are offered at customer locations or SoarTech facilities. Standard pricing is based upon a maximum of 8 students per seminar, but customized training packages can be negotiated.

UNREAL ENGINE 4 FAQ

How is the cost of the license determined? Are there runtime, deployment, or seat costs?
For most Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation projects, the free standard Epic EULA works well. For acquisition programs such as CAT I, II, III, and IV, it may be necessary to negotiate a custom license with SoarTech. The license can be granted on an enterprise, project, and/or seat basis, for a set term or as a perpetual agreement.

Is an Internet connection required to use UE4?
The UE4 engine does not require Internet connectivity in order to function. Internet connectivity is only required to download patches or updates, or to purchase content from the marketplace. The standard distribution method is via the Internet, but if a development environment cannot connect to the Internet for the installation, SoarTech can provide an offline installation package and updates.

How do Government employees and contractors find support for UE4?
SoarTech will provide expert support for UE4, including access to UGN (the Unreal Government Network) and UDN (Unreal Developers Network). Contact SoarTech for Annual subscription rates.

What are UE4’s system requirements?
For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM, a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited.
