Glidin2 Release at District Eat and Play in Oviedo, Florida

Soar Technology, Inc. (SoarTech) is happy to announce that Glidin2, our exciting 180-degree Field of View (FOV) hang-gliding simulator, is now available for public play at District Eat and Play, a family entertainment center and restaurant in Oviedo, Florida.

Glidin2 is an entertainment variant of a parachute-descent training system currently under development as a Phase II SBIR effort funded by the US Navy as a replacement training system for Parachute Descent Procedures (PDP). The training system features multiple displays, a touchscreen trainer configuration panel, and support for multiple aircraft flight gear and parachute configurations. In the Glidin2 variant, players are suspended in a hang glider canopy and use hand controls to navigate a powered paraglider through various fictional levels and environments, collecting coins and racing through a sequence of in-air checkpoints. Glidin2 was recently featured at The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world’s largest conference for modeling, simulation, and training.

This creative deployment of Glidin2 into a retail gaming environment illustrates SoarTech’s ability to apply our innovative research to a wide range of commercialization opportunities.
